This week we have been learning about our senses. We used our sense of touch to feel things from the Bear hunt Story and help us think of adjectives.
Hello, I hope the children have enjoyed their first week in year 1. We are currently providing a transition period for the children so that they become comfortable in their new classroom with their new teachers. We will have a structured morning where the children will be introduced to the format of our phonic & guided reading sessions. The children will also have Handwriting, English and Maths lessons where they will be introduced to working in books. In the afternoons the children will have lessons such as science, geography and music which will be structured in a 'free flow' and 'child initiated' learning style which is similar to Reception.
Please have a look around the class blog site particularly in the parent/carers area as there is lots of information about phonic homework & PE. Also please don't hesitate to speak to me at the classroom door in the mornings to pass on quick messages. There will be a 'meet the teacher' session shortly (details will be sent as soon as a a date is confirmed) where you will be given curriculum information and have a chance to ask any questions about the coming year. |
